Taking a leap…
Here I am, putting up my shingle. I wonder who will stop by, who will come in, who will I get to know. I’m nervous, excited, and ready for this chapter in my life to unfold.
In coaching school, they ask us who our ideal client is. My ideal client is myself. Because I’m also seeing a coach, I am a product of the service I’m offering. My own ADHD coach has helped me in so many ways. I’m sure I wouldn’t be this far along if it weren’t for her help. Every time I meet with her, I learn something new about my brain.
The last time we met, I learned that we spend a lot of energy (caloric energy - so this is for real) every time we start a task and every time we stop. “Transitions are expensive,” she told me.
With the onset of perimenopause, I find it more difficult than before to start a task. Once I get started, it’s just as hard to stop. Now I organize my days around specific types of tasks to minimize transitions.
I plan to post something about once a month. If you’re here reading this, what do you want to see here? Let me know in the comments.
